Since I requested this thread and I'm eating my salad for lunch...I thought a mini-topic on restaurants would be good!

Have you tried the new Thai restaurant in Milledgeville? It's up by Wal-Mart and Sylvias. It's really nice to have something a little different here in town! Still wondering when we're going to get some Indian food, though:)

Anyhow, Kai Thai is nice. They have a wide range of dishes and ALL of them are available in veggie friendly formats (as opposed to almost every other restaurant in town that has one or two options, max), and they will hit your spicy button to boot! Watch out for the spicy variation if you have a sensitive mouth or stomach though, cuz they aint messin around!

I know there's a decent Indian restaurant in Macon near Macon State College...any other recommendations???

I've eaten there a couple of times and it was very good. A good variety of flavors and many options of how to have it prepared.

Another good thing is that it is owned by a bicycle guy. Nakin Sritan, better known to most of us as "T", used to race for OO and he did the art work for their logo on the signs and jerseys. Sha'Ron and I used to ride with him a lot in the mid 90's. "T" still rides when he can, but his time is pretty scarce these days.

Oh, yes, Thai food is great. Pad Thai is good. Panang curry dishes are my favorite. Don't ask for anything spicy; Thai food will burn you!

I have eaten at the Indian restaurant near Macon State and enjoyed it. During the day they have a buffet, so you can try different things. At night you have to order from the menu, so I picked a dish at random and enjoyed that too.

Does Milledgeville have a Mellow Mushroom? I tried one in Atlanta. The atmosphere is great; love the decorations and the music. The food is good too. Wish Macon had one.

Milly does not have a Mellow Mushroom, but Athens has at least one, I think maybe two...

Macon has equal to, if not better than MM: Ingleside Village Pizza (they also have a counter part downtown with that theatre...can't remember the name right now).

Dinner and a movie.
Ingleside Village Pizza is better, but you have to get there early.

Yeah, closest Mellow Mushroom is here in Athens, though if you are looking for good pizza in Athens, there are far, far better places here than MM. (That said, I do wish we had one in Milledgeville!)

I know mexican restaraunts are a dime a dozen, but El Tequila off 441 across from Brusters is a nice little place. It's never really that busy, and the quesadillas are AMAZING.

Its where my girlfriend and I go to refuel after I get back from a long ride.

I will have to try Kai Thai. Never eaten Thai before.

There is a Mellow Mushroom out near Lake Oconee. It is in the Harmony Crossing shopping center on GA HWY 44 in Putnam county. We've eaten there a few times and it is good. This would be a good bit closer than Athens.

A bowl of Bob Marley soup from Buffington's is enough to keep you going for a while. Tastes great, too.

Another good Mexican place is Puebla's downtown.
