We were discussing possibly riding Rock Hawk instead of Dauset, anybody got any recent info re: trail conditions there? I know the majority of the trails have been closed for awhile, and was wondering about deadfall, etc. Looks like the ride (regardless of location) will be at 2PM.

Rock Hawk sounds good.

Ok, I've checked with some of the "locals", and it sounds like Rock Hawk is a good option. Furthermore, it sounds like they've got a group ride brewing tomorrow at 1. I'd like to propose that we move our ride time up and join some folks we haven't seen in awhile. Sound good?

I'll see you there - unless my eyes freeze over.
Who flicked on the winter switch?

No bad weather - just bad clothes. We rode for two hours yesterday here and it was fine. I was ready to shed a layer a mile in. For a cold ride surf over to
SORBA Racing and check out the Snake Creek Gap TT from yesterday. Shifter cables froze, camel baks and tubes froze, beards froze and the 34m option had a 40' wide creek crossing. 19 degrees with a windchill of 12. The 17m option was better since there are no creek crossings on it. My plans, like last year, are to race the February event. It was around freezing last year -- big difference from 19!

I saw those pictures from Snake Creek. Brutal!
I know the cold won't be a problem while riding in the right clothing. I'm more concerned about my fingers breaking off as I mount the bike rack on the car. :(

Great ride today at Rock Hawk. It has been a while since 10 people came out for a ride (half from M'ville, half from Eatonton). That 11 mile ride gave me about all I could handle. :o

Ditto Benny, I was out of gas by the time we got to the top of the 22. Good seeing all of the M'ville crew again!
