Oconee Outfitters had a good outing at the first Mountain Bike event of the year. Jason finished 2nd in a very large group and Angie finished with a Strong 6th. Both Jason and Angie competed in the 34 mile option. I rode in the 17 mile option which included most of the technical terrain. I had a good run finishing 27 of 98 in all age groups and 4th in 50+ and 5th in less than 30. It was a tough 2 and 1/2 hours with, shall we say, some very challenging terrain. The below photo shows one of the seemingly endless rock sections. Just the 17 mile option climbs 4 mountains and traverses miles of rocky ridge lines.

Congrats on the good results. I see the rocks. Is there a trail in there somewhere?

Actually for a lot of the miles of rocks there was no well defined trail. You were riding along a very long ridge that dropped off on each side and you just sorta took your choice of rock lines.
